A new toll rises to over 540 the number of dead due to the flash flood on the border between Nepal and Tibet. The humanitarian situation in the region continues to deteriorate with the significant increase in casualties.
Portugal announced this Friday that two Portuguese siblings, who had been reported missing following the catastrophe, have been located safe. Portuguese authorities managed to confirm their well-being.
However, the Portuguese toll is now more pessimistic. There are three nationals who remain unreachable, which represents two more citizens than the previous report indicated. Authorities continue to try to establish contact with these Portuguese citizens.
The flash flood on the Nepal-Tibet border continues to cause great destruction and to complicate rescue and assistance operations for victims in the affected region.
