Firefighters from the region receive 8.6 million euros support from Timor-Leste for firefighting (C/VIDEO)

Firefighters from the Tâmega e Sousa region will receive financial support from Timor-Leste worth 8.6 million euros for firefighting. This support comes within the scope of a total amount of 10 million euros destined for the acquisition of forest firefighting vehicles.

In the Tâmega e Sousa region, four firefighter corporations will be included: Lordelo, in the municipality of Paredes, Lixa in Felgueiras, Santa Mainha do Zêzere in Baião and Paço de Sousa in Penafiel.

In total, 23 humanitarian associations of volunteer firefighters from the North Region will benefit from this financial support for the acquisition of Forest Firefighting Vehicles. Timor-Leste's support represents an act of international solidarity to strengthen the firefighting response capacity in the northern region of Portugal.
