The fires returned to hit municipalities that had already been affected by large forest fires at least twice in the last five years. This situation represents a concerning pattern of recurrence in several regions of the country.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), almost 41 thousand hectares burned in municipalities that had previously recorded large burned areas. These numbers highlight the persistent vulnerability of territories already affected by fires.

The repetition of fires in the same municipalities raises questions about the effectiveness of prevention and forest management measures implemented after the previous major fires. Territories that burn frequently face growing challenges in vegetation recovery and population protection.
