The Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) dismantled a criminal group linked to violent crime in Caldas da Rainha. The police operation resulted in the seizure of several weapons, quantities of drugs and over 26,000 euros in cash.
The authorities did not specify the number of arrests nor the exact date of the operation, but the action represents a significant blow against violent criminal activities in that region of the district of Leiria.
The dismantled group was associated with violent crimes, possibly including homicides, serious bodily harm and other illegal activities that concerned the local authorities.
Caldas da Rainha, a city in western Portugal known for its thermal baths and ceramic industry, has been facing challenges related to organized crime, which motivated this joint operation by the PSP to restore security in the region.
