Tim Cook, still CEO of Apple, and John Ternus, the next leader of the tech giant, received at Apple Park headquarters the CEO of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, accompanied by the mascot of the Pokémon franchise, Pikachu.
The visit was described as "electric," in reference to the theme of Pokémon, which include various creatures with electric powers, with Pikachu being one of the most iconic of that category.
Ishihara is the president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, the company responsible for the management and global licensing of the Pokémon franchise, which includes games, cartoons, films, and merchandising.
The meeting between Apple executives and representatives of the Japanese franchise demonstrates the strategic importance of partnerships between the technology industry and major entertainment brands.
