The Spanish Ibex 35 recovers 20,000 points awaiting clues from Warsh on rates

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General28 August 2026 at 08:56

The Ibex 35 started the last session of the week with a rise of 0.72%, reaching 20,024 points, which represents the recovery of the 20,000-point barrier that it had lost on Thursday.

In Thursday's session, the Spanish stock index registered a fall of 0.93%, thus losing the 20,000-point quotation.

Investors are now awaiting clues from Warsh regarding interest rates, which has been influencing the European market sentiment.

This recovery allows the Spanish select to return to positive territory after a negative session that had generated concern among analysts.
