Most Portuguese families face serious financial difficulties, with 66% indicating they run out of money before the end of the month. This situation reveals significant financial pressure that limits both savings capacity and the possibility of dealing with unexpected expenses.
The main expenses weighing on family budgets are food and housing, which consume a large part of available income. These essential expenses leave little room to meet other needs or emergencies.
Regarding back-to-school, 30% of families with school-age children state they do not have sufficient income to cover the associated costs. This additional difficulty at the start of the school year represents yet another factor of financial stress for these families.
