Prime Minister and PSD leader Luís Montenegro defended this Thursday the need for a "national understanding" on Social Security sustainability before the next elections. The position was taken via videoconference during the PSD Summer University.

Luís Montenegro reaffirmed the commitment to not alter the system in the current legislative session, emphasizing that any future structural reform will have to be based on a prior electoral commitment. The head of Government acknowledged that achieving this consensus will require "breaking a lot of stones".
