Betty Faria publicly criticized the fact that menopause has become a discussion topic in recent times. In an interview with Simone Zuccolotto on Canal Brasil, the 85-year-old actress stated that she thinks talking about the subject is "a stupidity because it helps sexism against women". The declaration was made during a conversation about her participation in the film "Garota", which has just been shot.

In the film, the character played by Giovanna Antonelli goes through the menopause process upon turning 50. Betty did not detail what role she plays in the production, but commented on the approach to the subject in the feature film.

At 85 years old, Betty Faria has remained professionally active and far from ageism. Recently, the actress participated in four simultaneous films, working like never before in her career. She commented that ageism is "a nuisance", demonstrating her discomfort with age discrimination in the entertainment industry.
