The cartoonist Marcello Quintanilha released "Eldorado," his new comic book album, which features his own father, Hélcio Quintanilha, as the protagonist. The character is a retired football player who played for Canto do Rio Football Club during the 1950s. In the comic, a character questions whether Hélcio was really the only defender who scored goals at that time, to which he responds with false modesty.
This is the author's first album since "Escuta, formosa Márcia," published in 2021. This previous work earned Quintanilha the Jabuti Prize for best comic book and the Fauve d'Or, the main prize of the Angoulême Festival in France.
This is not the first time the cartoonist has included his father in one of his works. The player had previously appeared as Acirzinho in the author's debut book, "A...".
