A cold front that crossed mainland Portugal is moving eastward, but will still cause light rain and showers in the early morning hours of Friday in the North and Centre regions, especially in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra and Leiria. Maritime polar air has pushed minimum temperatures down to values between 8°C in Guarda and 16°C on the coast, with the wind losing intensity throughout the day. Precipitation should decrease progressively during the afternoon, giving way to clear spells. The weekend will bring a significant improvement in the weather, with reduced cloud cover and recovery of temperatures, exceeding 30°C in various inland areas.
