During a Q&A session on TV Globo on Thursday, the 27th, President Lula drew attention by participating in the interview wearing a Panama hat. The term "why is Lula wearing a hat" registered a search spike on Google Trends during the broadcast of the Q&A.

According to the article, Lula had already explained the reason for wearing the hat on August 17th, during a speech at the opening event of his campaign for re-election, held at the Vila Euclides stadium in São Bernardo do Campo, in the ABC region of São Paulo.

On that occasion, the president stated that he is wearing a hat mainly because he underwent radiation therapy to treat skin cancer on his head. Lula also highlighted that he likes wearing hats, but that on that specific day the main reason was protection after the medical treatment.

Despite receiving medical recommendations to avoid sun exposure, the Workers' Party president said he would remove the headpiece for the supporters who were present at the campaign event.
