The Tate brothers will remain in custody awaiting a decision

Observador28 August 2026 at 00:05

The Tate brothers, Andrew and Tristan, will remain in jail while the investigation into the suspected crimes continues. The two influencers, known for their social media posts and controversial lifestyle, have been in custody since the beginning of the year.

The brothers are suspected of rape and facilitating human trafficking. Authorities are investigating alleged sexual exploitation networks in which the two may have been involved.

Andrew and Tristan Tate deny all charges against them. Through their lawyers, they attempted to obtain bail.

The bail request was, however, rejected by Romanian authorities, who considered that conditions for their provisional release were not met. The brothers therefore remain in prison awaiting a judicial decision on the case.
