The risk of a new flood threatens the border between Nepal and Tibet, a region already devastated by an avalanche that left at least 389 dead. Authorities identified that a river was blocked by debris in Tibet, forming a dammed lake with approximately two million cubic meters of water that is already overflowing, with the possibility of another three million cubic meters arriving at the site over the next three days. With more rain forecast, there is a high risk of the barrier breaking. Residents were advised to stay away from the banks, while rescue teams face difficulties due to lack of connectivity, power and resources. More than 1,400 people are missing, including approximately 700 tourists from more than 30 countries.
