Fidelidade insurance company announced that it has assumed total costs of 2.3 million euros to date related to the Gloria elevator accident in Lisbon, including four compensations to the families of the 16 fatalities. Almost a year after the tragedy that involved victims of 15 nationalities, the insurer revealed that the costs include compensation agreements, funeral services, repatriations, medical treatments, and lost wages. Of the 16 deaths, there are agreements with four families, seven cases are under negotiation, one is in court, and three are awaiting documentation. Regarding the 24 injured, the compensation assessment can only be completed after clinical stabilization. The opposition has criticized the lack of information from the Lisbon City Council, led by Carlos Moedas, about the accident.
