Fidelidade insurance company announced that it has already assumed costs of approximately 2.3 million euros related to the Glória elevator accident in Lisbon, which occurred in September 2025, causing 16 dead and 24 injured from 15 nationalities. The amount includes four compensation agreements with families of the deceased, funeral services, repatriations, medical treatments and other expenses. Of the 16 dead, seven cases are under negotiation, one is proceeding in court, another is being handled as a workplace accident and three still do not have a definitive compensation proposal due to the need for documentation. Regarding the 24 injured, the definitive assessment has not yet been possible because none have reached clinical stabilization. The opposition at the Lisbon City Council has criticized the lack of information and responses from president Carlos Moedas.
