Nunes says he may send a new bill to the City Council to correct points of the Zoning
Mayor Ricardo Nunes stated that he may send a new bill to the São Paulo City Council to correct points of the Zoning Code affected by the court decision, which found unconstitutional amendments made to the zoning map of the capital in 2024. The judges understood that the council members included substantial changes unrelated to the original bill and without sufficient technical justification. The decision targeted the so-called "revision of the revision," approved by the Council and signed into law in July 2024. Nunes reported that the Mayor's Office will analyze the decision point by point before sending a possible new proposal, emphasizing that the court did not declare the entire law unconstitutional, but only Article 8, which makes the changes to the zoning map.
