The Volunteer Firefighters of Santarém performed an emergency delivery in an ambulance at kilometer 54 of Highway 23 (A23) early this morning. The baby was destined for Abrantes Hospital, but ended up being born during transport, in an episode reported on social media by one of the firefighters who responded to the incident.

Gouveia – Rescue of weakened bird of prey

The Territorial Command of Guarda, through the SEPNA of the Gouveia Detachment, collected a bird of prey of the booted eagle species that was found weakened in the industrial zone of Gouveia by a citizen. The animal was delivered to the Center for Ecology, Recovery and Surveillance of Wild Animals (CERVAS), where it will receive the necessary care for later return to its natural habitat. The GNR appeals to the population to report situations of injured or weakened wild animals through the SOS Environment and Territory Line.
