The number of measles cases in the state of São Paulo has risen to 26 this year, after the confirmation of three new patients in the capital. Of the confirmed cases, 23 are residents of the city of São Paulo, two from São Bernardo do Campo and one from Guarulhos. The majority of patients were unvaccinated or had incomplete vaccination schedules — 19 in total. The three new patients are two children under one year old and a woman in her thirties, none with a vaccination history. Given the increase in cases, the state maintains until September 1st a multi-vaccination campaign to expand population immunization.
