Of the five interviewees on Jornal Nacional until Friday, only one did not need to answer questions about democracy. The article analyzes the positions of candidates or political representatives regarding fundamental questions about the democratic regime in Brazil.

Two of the interviewees downplayed the attack on the Three Powers that occurred on January 8, when demonstrations invaded and vandalized the headquarters of the National Congress, the Supreme Federal Court, and the Presidential Palace in Brasília.

One of the interviewees presented a proposal of authoritarian extremism during the interview, while another is the son of a former president who attempted a coup d'état in Brazil.

The article is exclusive for subscribers and aims to assess how candidates and their representatives position themselves on fundamental democratic issues in the current Brazilian political context.
