Senior football returns to the region next Sunday, August 30th, with the opening round of the AFS Cup "Joaquim José Sousa Marques". This competition marks the official kickoff of the 2026/2027 sports season.

Vasco da Gama de Sines is one of the participating teams in this competition, debuting at home in the first game of the competition.

Vasco da Gama de Sines' opponent in this inaugural match is CRI, in a knockout match that promises to mark the start of the new football season in the region.

The AFS Cup is thus the first official competition of the upcoming sports season, bringing back senior football to the local scene after the off-season period.
