Since February 2022, Tânia Cruz and her family have been offering love and support to Guinean children undergoing surgeries at the Coimbra Pediatric Hospital. The family, originally from Miranda do Corvo, establishes a special connection with the children from Guinea-Bissau through the "Filhos do Coração" (Children of the Heart) project.
The Filhos do Coração project was born with the objective of supporting Guinean children who need surgical interventions in Portugal. Tânia Cruz and her family welcome these children during their recovery period, providing them with accompaniment and affection.
The bond between Guinea-Bissau and Miranda do Corvo has been strengthened through this solidarity initiative. Tânia Cruz's family is dedicated to accompanying the children from their arrival in Portugal until their complete recovery, ensuring they receive the necessary support throughout the entire process.
The Coimbra Pediatric Hospital is where the Guinean children are operated on, while the families from Miranda do Corvo take on the role of welcoming and providing post-surgical accompaniment, creating emotional bonds that go beyond the borders of the two countries.
