Nepal: Death toll rises to 750 due to flood

The death toll from the flood that hit the border region between Tibet and Nepal has risen to at least 750 people, according to a new toll released by Nepali authorities. The disaster occurred on Wednesday and affected communities on both sides of the border separating Tibet, an autonomous region of China, from Nepal.

The toll also reveals that 3,044 people remain missing as a result of this catastrophe. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, although conditions on the ground remain difficult.

Local and international authorities have been working to rescue those affected, but the high number of missing persons suggests that the death toll may continue to rise in the coming days. The border region between Tibet and Nepal is known for its mountainous terrain and vulnerability to natural disasters, which hinders rescue operations.
