The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced today an inspection of the branches in the country of the Egyptian public bank Misr, targeted by American sanctions for its alleged involvement in financial transactions with Iran. The inspection aims to verify the operations of Misr Bank's subsidiaries operating in Emirati territory. The Egyptian bank faces restrictions imposed by the United States due to its alleged links to the Iranian financial system. The UAE Central Bank thus decided to act to ensure compliance with applicable local and international regulations.
