Sporting reaches half a hundred consecutive wins

SAPO Notícias29 August 2026 at 23:16

Sporting reached the milestone of 50 consecutive wins in the Betclic Andebol 1 Championship. The Lions continue their unbeaten streak in the competition, demonstrating their dominance in Portuguese handball.

The three major Portuguese teams - Sporting, Benfica and FC Porto - had a first round of the Betclic Andebol 1 Championship without major concerns. The so-called big teams achieved favorable results right in the opening round of the competition.

The fans present in the arenas were treated to routs in the games of the top teams. These emphatic victories at the start of the championship demonstrate the gap in quality between the main clubs and the remaining teams in the competition.

The Betclic Andebol 1 Championship thus kicks off in the best possible way for the main title contenders, who intend to maintain their dominance throughout the entire season.
