The Rio Prefecture delivered 54 new buses in Campo Grande, which start running on Sunday (30th), marking another stage of the transformation promised for public transportation in the West Zone. The delivery ceremony also inaugurated the first public garage of the RIO System, the city's new municipal public transportation network.
The garage, located on Estrada do Campinho, has 56 thousand square meters of area and capacity to receive up to 380 vehicles. Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere was present at the event and classified the delivery as symbolic for the implementation of the new transportation model in the region.
According to the mayor, the fleet renewal will be expanded to all of the West Zone, guaranteeing greater quality in the public transportation service of the region. The RIO System represents a complete restructuring of bus operations in the state capital.
