A 39-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning on Pinheira beach, located in Greater Florianópolis, Brazil. The incident happened on Friday, when the victim was struck during a storm.

The woman was rescued and taken to a hospital in the region, but did not survive the injuries caused by the electrical discharge. She died on Saturday morning, one day after the accident.

Local authorities are still investigating the detailed circumstances of the case. So far, no further information has been released about the victim's identity or possible witnesses to the incident.
