Mercado SC Braga: LaLiga2 and Serie A call on former Portuguese U-21 international

SAPO Notícias29 August 2026 at 20:04

SC Braga is being targeted by enquiries from Almería and Venezia for the signing of Leonardo Lelo, a left-back and former Portuguese U-21 international. Both clubs want the player on loan, showing interest in a temporary transfer.

The Spanish club Almería, which plays in LaLiga 2, shows particular willingness to include in the deal a purchase option clause valued at around 4 million euros. This condition could allow the permanent acquisition of the player after the loan period.

Negotiations are still in an early stage, with the interested clubs approaching the arsenalista SAD to explore possible agreements. SC Braga, as the holder of the player's sporting rights, is evaluating the proposals received.

Leonardo Lelo, of Portuguese nationality, has already represented the selection of the quinas at U-21 level, accumulating youth international experience before joining Braga. The possible departure of the player comes within the transfer window, with Spanish and Italian clubs competing for his signature.
