FC Porto: Bednarek Did Not Return for the Second Half

SAPO Notícias29 August 2026 at 19:21

The Polish central defender Jan Bednarek, of FC Porto, suffered a knock to his right leg during the end of the first half of a game and did not return for the second half. The injury occurred when the player was close to completing the first half hour of the game, forcing his substitution before halftime.

The player was immediately substituted, unable to complete the regulation 90 minutes of the match. The FC Porto coaching staff had to make a mandatory substitution during halftime, adapting the starting eleven due to the Polish defender's absence.

Bednarek has been an important piece in the Dragons' defense this season, and his premature exit represented a setback for the Portuguese team during the match. The extent of the injury has not yet been confirmed, with further information on the player's clinical status pending.

This is not the first time Bednarek has faced physical problems this season, having already been sidelined from the pitch due to other muscle injuries. The FC Porto medical team should monitor the Polish international's recovery in the coming days.
