The International Medical Assistance (AMI) will extend its psychological support mission to the population of La Guaira, Venezuela, for two months, the region most affected by the double earthquake of June 24. The decision was confirmed to the Lus a news agency by the mission coordinator, Daniel Viegas Rocha.
The mission extension runs until October 31 and was approved internally by AMI, taking into account the high number of consultations carried out and the need to ensure sustainability and responsibility in the follow-up of the affected population.
La Guaira was the region most impacted by the double earthquake that occurred in June, causing high levels of psychological suffering among local inhabitants, which justified the request for continuity of support by the humanitarian organization.
Daniel Viegas Rocha shared the details of this decision with the Lus a news agency, emphasizing AMI's commitment to maintaining its presence in the field and ensuring that those affected continue to receive adequate support during this additional two-month period.
