Keegam Swirbul is the new leader of the Grande Prémio Douro Internacional after being the strongest rider at the finish in Lamego, in the first stage of the race.
The American rider assumed the race lead, succeeding Miguel Salgueiro, from the Tavira-Crédito Agrícola team, who had won the prologue in Vila Real.
