Franck Kessié is returning to Atalanta. The Ivorian midfielder, who had previously represented the Italian club between 2017 and 2019, signed a contract with the Bergamo side after being without a club.
The 27-year-old player became available on the market after his contract with Al Ahli ended, the Qatari club where he played last season. Before his stint in Qatar, Kessié had played for Barcelona, after leaving Atalanta in 2019.
Kessié's first spell at Atalanta was marked by his contribution to the team that achieved third place in Serie A in the 2018/2019 season. The Ivorian played 121 games for the nerazzurri across his two spells at the club, demonstrating his importance in midfield.
With this return, Kessié joins Atalanta again to strengthen the midfield of the Italian team, which aims to maintain its competitive status in European competitions.
