The Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar, from the UAE Emirates team, retired today from the 81st edition of the Tour of Spain by bicycle. The retirement occurred after a crash during the eighth stage of the race.
The stage in question was taking place between Puçol and Xeraco, when the rider suffered the incident that forced him to withdraw from the competition.
At the time of the crash, Pogacar was leading the general classification of the Vuelta, maintaining a significant advantage over his pursuers.
