Bernardo Pereira and Sara Sotero became today European champions of sea kayaking in the SS2 mixed doubles class, in a race held in Brest, France. The Portuguese duo completed the course in 55.50 minutes, securing the gold medal.

On the podium, they were accompanied by the French Pierre Vilella and Margaux Bouteloup, who finished 1.13 minutes behind the winners, and the Spanish Chloe Bunnett and Walter Bouzan, who completed the top three 1.45 minutes off the Portuguese team's time.

This victory represents a historic milestone for Portugal, as Bernardo Pereira and Sara Sotero are the first Portuguese duo ever to compete in this category. The goal set by the team was precisely to win the European gold.
