CABO VERDE DEFENDS DEEP REFORM OF THE AFRICAN UNION

The President of Cabo Verde, José Maria Neves, defended in Luanda the need for a deep reform of the African Union so that the organization can implement the decisions it makes. The Cabo Verdean head of state made this declaration in an interview with the Portuguese news agency, on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government.

The meeting took place on Sunday, in Luanda, the Angolan capital, and was dedicated exclusively to conflict prevention in Africa. José Maria Neves was the first head of state from Portuguese-speaking Africa to arrive in the Angolan capital to participate in the event, which brought together leaders from across the continent to discuss peace and security issues.
