Isaquias Queiroz returned to the top of the World Championship podium this Saturday (29). The Bahian canoeist won the men's C1 500m final in Poznan, Poland, with a time of 1:46.08, claiming his first world title since 2022.

The decision was settled by details. Czech Martin Fuksa crossed the finish line 24 hundredths of a second after the Brazilian and took silver. The bronze went to Chinese Bowen Ji, 1.02 seconds behind Isaquias. Greek Stefanos Dimopoulos and German Florin Bange tied for fourth place, both 2.17 seconds behind the winner.

Also completing the A final were Canadian Alix Plomteux, Moldovan Serghei Tarnovschi, Hungarian Daniel Fejes, and Argentine Aramis Caleb Sanchez Ayala.

The gold comes 24 hours after a very different result. On Friday (28), Isaquias had finished the C1 1000m final in ninth and last place. With this Saturday's title, the Bahian reaches 15 World Championship medals, eight of them gold, accumulated between 2013 and now.
