Marielle Franco's family released a note of repudiation regarding the interview granted by Ronnie Lessa to TV Record, aired on Thursday, the 27th, on the program Doc Investigação. In the interview, Lessa spoke for the first time about the crime that earned him a conviction: the assassination of councilwoman Marielle Franco and her driver, Anderson Gomes.
During the interview, former military police officer Ronnie Lessa stated he was "numbed by money" when participating in the assassination and defined the action as an "overdose of greed." It was the first time he spoke publicly about the crime and other cases involving his name.
For Marielle's family, the interview turned into a spectacle a crime that destroyed their lives. In a statement, the councilwoman's relatives stated that giving leading role and image to the executor, while the production reconstructs in detail the dynamics of the assassination, is an "irresponsible and disrespectful" choice regarding the memory of the councilwoman.
