GNR arrested ten men on suspicion of smuggling in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve. The operation involved the execution of several search and arrest warrants, resulting in the seizure of various material.
Among the material seized by the authorities was a surveillance camera with a solar panel, a water pump and four bags containing food products and beverages. The articles indicate that the smuggling involved the transport of consumer goods.
The ten arrested men were brought before judicial authorities for first interrogation. The arrests arise within the scope of an investigation that had been ongoing for some time about illegal activities in that area of the eastern Algarve.
Vila do Bispo is located on the southwest coast of the Algarve, a region frequently associated with cross-border smuggling activities due to its proximity to the Spanish border.
