The real challenge will be financing — Portugal advocates for a European Nature Restoration Fund and admits resorting to nature credit markets and private investment — and the capacity to implement measures on the ground, in vulnerable territories such as Serra da Estrela, Gerês or the Guadiana Valley, confronted with fires, drought, urban pressure and climate change.

The little Nymph returned

A small bronze sculpture depicting a nymph, which had been stolen from the stairs of the Dock in Faro, was recovered and returned to its original location after search efforts by municipal workers. The piece, considered one of the city's symbols and frequently photographed by visitors and residents as a memento of Ria Formosa, has now returned with greater security, representing an important contribution to the artistic heritage of Faro.
