Sintra City Council will create two new financial support programs to help families in the municipality with children in school. The new Family Check provides 150 euros per student through 12th grade, while the Sintra Studies More program may grant up to 1500 euros annually to higher education students.
The Family Check will be awarded at the start of the school year, will not depend on family income and does not require any application from those interested. This is an automatic access measure for primary and secondary school students.
Regarding the Sintra Studies More program, the amount to be assigned to each higher education student will depend on a municipal assessment, which means it will not be a fixed amount for all beneficiaries.
The funds should start reaching beneficiaries' accounts by the end of November, allowing families to prepare for the start of the school year with some additional financial support.
