GNR arrested ten men, aged between 19 and 46, in the early morning of August 28, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve. The arrests were made as part of an operation aimed at combating fuel trafficking.
During the operation, authorities seized 214 jerrycans of fuel, containing gasoline, and two vehicles. The seized material represents a significant blow to illegal fuel trade in the Algarve region.
GNR did not reveal further details about the investigations that led to the arrests, nor the identities of those arrested or any possible connection of the operation to organized criminal networks. The military authorities continue with the investigation process.
