Almost 50 operatives are fighting a wildfire in the parish of Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, in the municipality of Tavira, in the Algarve. A Civil Protection spokesperson confirmed today to the news agency Lusil the information about this active fire.
The firefighting operation includes ground and aerial resources, with operatives working on the ground to try to control the spread of the fire in the rural area. Civil Protection is coordinating the operations to ensure the safety of the resources involved and of nearby populations.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and the evolution of the fire, which broke out in the Algarve region. So far, no information has been released about injuries or significant material damage caused by the fire.
