The National Health Service (SNS) of Portugal currently has more than 10 million registered users, according to the most recent data available. This number represents the entire population covered by the public health system.

Regarding family doctor coverage, the most recent data indicates that 87% of the population has access to this health professional. This means that a significant portion of registered users still does not have an assigned family doctor.

The SNS covers the entire Portuguese population through its health units, from health centers to public hospitals, offering primary and specialized health care to registered users.
