Macau hotels register highest occupancy until July since before the pandemic

Macau registered in the first seven months of the year the highest hotel occupancy levels since the period before the covid-19 pandemic. This recovery reflects the resumption of tourism in the region, which has been gradually recovering the flow of international visitors.

At the end of July, Macau had 149 hotels and guesthouses, a number that represents a historical maximum. These hotel units had approximately 45,300 rooms available to visitors.

The number of rooms represents an increase of about 100 units compared to the same period of the previous year, demonstrating the growth of accommodation capacity in the region.

The data was released by DSEC, the Statistics and Census Service of Macau, which regularly monitors the tourism and hotel sector indicators of the territory.
