CIRCATI: Centre-back with departure

Correio da Manhã29 August 2026 at 09:00

Benfica is looking for reinforcements for the central defence. According to the information reported, an Australian centre-back emerges as an alternative to fill a gap in the defensive sector.

The Australian player is presented as an option for both Tomás Araújo and Clément Lenglet, who have been used in the centre-back position for the red and whites.

The centre-back position appears with a pending departure, which forces the Lisbon club to look for alternatives on the market to strengthen this area of the pitch.

With the need to fill the space left by one of the centre-backs, Benfica is now evaluating this Australian option for the current sporting season.
