Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) was interviewed by TV Globo on the fifth day of the series of interviews with Presidential candidates. During the question-and-answer session, the PL candidate sought to dodge responsibility regarding the US tariff hikes, downplayed the January 8 coup attempt, and tried to shift responsibility for the Banco Master case to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Flávio refused to provide explanations about the financing by banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, of a film in homage to his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro. The topic was raised more than once during the interview, but the candidate preferred not to answer the questions about this issue.
Regarding electronic voting machines, the senator said he will respect the election results, after having cited false data on the topic to foreign diplomats in July. However, he avoided answering whether that stance would also apply in case of defeat in the elections.
The interview was marked by attempts to shift responsibility and by ambiguity on sensitive topics, such as acceptance of election results and scandals involving close allies of the Bolsonaro family.
