The District of Columbia government has increased pressure for the Union to release a loan to Banco de Brasília (BRB), intended to cover a R$ 12.2 billion shortfall resulting from the bank's involvement in Banco Master fraud.
The deal between BRB and Banco Master was blocked in time. The Federal Police began investigating the case, Vorcaro's bank was liquidated by the Central Bank, and the then president of BRB, Paulo Henrique Costa, was arrested.
