MFF 2028-2034: Ensuring resources without taking away decision-making capacity from the ORs

The next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union (MFF), for 2028-2034, is not just a negotiation about funds. It is also about ensuring that the Outermost Regions (ORs) do not lose the capacity to decide on the use of the funds that will be allocated to them. In the proposal presented by the European Commission, two main problems are identified. The first is the cuts to the Cohesion Fund. The second is the centralization of fund management in Brussels and in national governments.

TSE minister Floriano de Azevedo Marques granted this Friday an injunction authorizing former governor Anthony Garotinho to resume his campaign activities in Rio de Janeiro. The TSE minister decided that there should be "at minimum a relevant legal controversy" about the situation of the Republicanos candidate for governor of Rio, and that he should maintain the same campaign conditions as his competitors until the final judgment of his candidacy registration.
