On TV Globo, Flavio Bolsonaro denies 'quid pro quo' with Vorcaro, tries to link Master to Lula, and talks about 'Disney coup'

On TV Globo this Friday, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) denied that there was any "quid pro quo" in his parliamentary actions in exchange for financing the feature film "Dark Horse," a production about his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro. The statement was made during the fifth interview in the series with candidates for the Presidency of the Republic, broadcast live after the Jornal Nacional.

The senator stated that "there is absolutely nothing wrong with a son seeking financing for his own father's film" and declared that the "only relationship" he maintained with banker Daniel Vorcaro concerned the film.

In May, The Intercept website revealed messages exchanged between Flavio and Daniel Vorcaro, then owner of Banco Master, in which the senator sought funds to finance the production about his father. According to the publication, R$ 134 million was negotiated.

Flavio also tried to link the case to former President Lula, going so far as to mention a supposed "Disney coup," in an attempt to deflect the criticism received during the interview.
