On September 14, the Noble Hall of the USP Law School (Largo de São Francisco) will be the venue for the launch of ANID (National Alliance for Childhood and Development), an initiative conceived by lawyer Daniel Senna, president of the NGO Todos Por Um.
The event brings together top-level authorities, members of the justice system, academic representatives, business leaders and civil society entities. Among the confirmed attendees are parliamentarians, leaders from the Instituto Ayrton Senna and the Attorney General of Labor.
The ANID proposal is to establish a permanent national agenda for the protection and investment in Brazilian childhood, overcoming the history of fragmented and circumstantial public policies that have marked the country.
According to the initiative, education and the protection of children and adolescents should be treated not as palliative assistance, but as the main strategy for economic development, innovation and reduction of inequalities in Brazil.
